A whole Mess of things happening today.
This is one busy day....
The Primera Division de Argentina will hold their final between Boca Juniors and Estudiantes La Plata. Because Boca imploded over the last two matches of the season, mixed with Estudiantes firing off 11 victories in 12 matches, both clubs finished with the same point total at the end of the season, which required a one match playoff final.
The CONMEBOL Copa Sudamericana final reaches its climax with the second leg of the two legged series between Chile's Colo Colo and Mexico's Pachuca. Both clubs finished the first leg in a draw at 1-1. The second leg takes place in Chile. This is the second straight year where a CONCACAF club has reached the Sudamericana finals, with PUMAS reaching the finals last season against Boca Juniors. I am pulling for Pachuca, as a win will give CONCACAF its first South American cup championship and will go a long way towards increasing the chances of more CONCACAF clubs taking part in CONMEBOL cup tournaments.
The FIFA Club World Cup is underway, with CONCACAF's Club America advancing yesterday to the semi finals with a 1-0 victory over South Korea's Chonbuk Motors. Club America will now take on UEFA Champion, Barcelona tomorrow. The first semi final match was held today with CONMEBOL Champion Internacional knocking off African champion Al Ahly Cairo 2-1 to reach the finals.
Steve Goff has a very good breakdown of the Freddy Adu trade to Real Salt Lake at the Washington Post.
And as expected, Brazil has formally entered its bid for the 2014 World Cup. FIFA will make their "decision" next November.

I think Colo Colo should destroy Pachuca at home.
Nice to see an American point of view - you can see an Australian one at my blog - http://futbolking.blogspot.com/
