After a week of vacation....
So I took a week off for some fun in the sun and some down time.
The USSF announced that the USMNT will travel, yes, travel to face Sweden over in Europe in August 22. The match will take place on Ullevi stadium in Goteborg, Sweden.
August 22 is an official FIFA friendly date, so clubs will have to release any players called up for national team duty 48 hours ahead of the match.
Sweden will be using this as a warm up for their next round of Euro 2008 qualifiers, so we should be expecting a full squad in their line-up. It will be interesting to see if any MLS based US players are called into this match, as it falls right in the middle of the MLS season.
I like this match up. Sweden has always had a respectable side and should present our players with a good outing, much better than China should in June.
