Dempsey Europe bound?

Clint Dempsey was left off the New England Revolution roster tonight for the 4th round USOC match against the Rochester Ragin' Rhinos, a match that the Revolution won 5-4 in penalty kicks after 120 minutes of scoreless action. Based on the starting line-up and the full roster, it would seem that Clint might be heading to the Europe. MLSnet.com does not have Demspey listed on the Revolution injury list, and regardless of this post on Bigsoccer.com, there is no real way to be sure. It is a common thing in world football to claim a player is getting a scan to hold him out of a match during negotiations.
