CONCACAF gets 2 in Sudamericana Semi's

Mexican clubs, Toluca and Pachuca have both advanced to the Semi-Finals of the Copa Sudamericana, which is highly regarded as the CONMEBOL equivalent to the UEFA Cup. Pachuca will face Atletico Paranaense of Brazil in the first semi-final, with Toluca taking on Colo Colo of Chile.

Pachuca advanced by knocking off Argentine club, Lanus with a 5-2 aggregate goal total. They defeated Lanus in Argentina 3-0 and drew with them 2-2 at home. Toluca came back from a 3-1 deficit against Argentina's San Lorenzo to win 2-0 at home. Having the 1 away goal made the difference in the series.

This marks the second consecutive year that a CONCACAF club has reached the Semi-Finals of the Copa Sudamericana, with PUMAS advancing all the way to the final last year.
