Gooch Staying in Belgium

Fox Soccer Channel is reporting that Oguchi Onyewu will remain at Standard Liege for the last season of his current contract, despite EPL club Middlesborogh offering him a contract. Evidently personal items of the contract were not worked out to his liking.

Hopefully this doesn't come back to bite him in the ass. If he gets injured or has a rather lackluster season, going from Belgium to MLS might be in his cards. Hopefully the next US coach gets the USSF to schedule some good friendlies in Europe next year, and Gooch does well in them to keep his stock up.
